Heads Up for this dress by Diane Von Furstenberg

The garment: A black silk dress with a silver bead decorative band at the neckline. The care label reads, “Dry Clean Only”. There is also an International Cleanability Symbol on the label that supports this wording.

The problem: After drycleaning many of the beads are beginning to soften and dissolve thus staining other areas of the dress. The decorative trim is now permanently damaged resulting in an objectionable appearance of the beads and nearby dress fabric.

Who’s responsible? The manufacturer, since all components on a garment must be able to withstand the recommended professional cleaning process, as labeled.

What to do: This dress should be returned to the place of purchase or manufacturer.
